We finally made it - this is our CD.

A couple of years after the "Rainbow Tattoo"- tape, Celtic Experience presents a brilliant collection of traditional Scottish and Irish music, as we did during our '95 - tour through Holland, England and Scotland. We made great friends up there again - it was a real "Celtic Experience". We used up a lot of Islay whisky and Harry's last nerves on the recordings at Gleisenau and all the rest of the studio-works at Oettingshausen. Harry has really hated computers and recording -machines since then - but we all still love him, because he did a really great job while sitting in front of all these panels, switches, controls and lights.So just enjoy our music - see you at the next concert.

worth waiting for

We did wait to "see what happens" after having published our first CD. Since then it has been "worth waiting for" tihs one, now with Marina, our brand new fiddle player.
Stewart Hardy gave us a set of his own muisc and we picked up a couple of new songs during our tour throughout Scotland and with Scottish friends over here.

Still no drums and not too many electronics. Every tune has been recorded without cuts and technical tricks to keep a lot of the athmosphere of our live gigs.

We enjoy playing traditional music in our own way and hope our audience will get a sense of this feeling every time they have fun with this CD.

Rhinns Singers
It was a real good time - this summer, when I was in Islay for six weeks. I wanted to record original Islay music, because this island means music and a very intensive way of life for me - I simply love it. Iain McLellan gave me the lounge of his Lochindaal Hotel to build up the equipment - tape-machine, mikes, guitars and whatever and all I had to do was to wait for the local singers to come in. I have been playing with these musicians a lot and I hope we will have many more years.I think it was a success: the music of the Rhinns local singers sounds just like one of the ceilidhs. I found brilliant musicians to back the singing up with instruments - and Harry did a great job at the final mixing. It's up to you to enjoy the CD. The cover painting is originally a silk batik. It has been given to me by Liz Sykes; she is very special to me. I do admire her and what she does.

In Schottland sind wir immer wieder gefragt worden, ob wir nicht auch deutsche Lieder singen könnten - diese CD ist die Antwort.

Obwohl man beim besten Willen nicht sagen kann, dass ich mit deutscher Volksmusik aufgewachsen wäre, fühle ich mich mit der Auswahl der Lieder ganz wohl - traditionell und doch nicht volkstümelnd. Außerdem muss Monikas Stimme endlich einmal ins rechte Licht gesetzt werden.

Im übrigen sind wir unserem Stil treu geblieben; somit tanzt die dritte CD nur gesanglich aus der Reihe. Unsere Verbundenheit zu Schottland - Land, Leuten und Musik - soll weiterhin spürbar bleiben, unsere eigene Begeisterung dafür soll sich immer wieder auf unser Publikum übertragen.Zum Schluss bleibt noch, Dankeschön zu sagen - meinem Sohn Patrick für seine guten Nerven bei den Studioaufnahmen und der Cover - Gestaltung und unserer Monika für die zahllosen Stunden beim Abmischen.

Diese CD markiert auch den Abschied von zwei Musikern, die von Anfang an dabei waren: Waltraud Helwig und Harald Sapper, die sich aus ganz persönlichen Gründen verabschiedet haben. An dieser Stelle ein herzliches "farewell"
